Cape Le Grand / Esperance – Road Trip Destination

Cape Le Grand National Park is located on the Southern coastline of Western Australia, just East of Esperance, and 1000 kilometres from the South Australian border.

Featuring turquoise waters, and clean, white, powder fine sand that squeaks under your feet, this is considered one of the most perfect stretches of coastline in the world.

Hosting an abundance of marine life, friendly kangaroos, and fascinating rock formations and granite peaks which dot the coast line there is always something to gaze at, or explore.

Camping sites within Cape Le Grand are available on a first come – first served basis, and fill up fast.  If you would like to book ahead, there are plenty of caravan park opportunities in the nearby town of Esperance.

Esperance is a town built around the local agriculture and fishing industries, with an increasingly popular role as a major tourism destination.

Offering visitors great opportunities for Surfing, Fishing, Scuba Diving, Hiking, and simply relaxing in the stunningly beautiful surrounds, Esperance, and the nearby Cape Le Grand National Park are a caravan holiday destination that everyone will enjoy time and time again.

Self driving from Perth – 3,226km’s inland, or 3,332km coastal road.

Fly to Kununurra – El Questro Station offer a shuttle service twice daily.

Air transfer – Helicopter to El Questro Station, or small plane.

Self Driving the 781 kilometre route from Perth to Cape Le Grand National Park will take the determined traveller nearly 9 hours.  If you wish to break up the trip, an overnight stay in one of the inland towns such as Dumbleyung with its fascinating salt flats, or Hyden where you can visit the intriguing Wave Rock is recommended.  Both feature well regarded and well-priced caravan parks.

Fly          There are regular Flights from Perth to Esperance.

Bus         A daily Coach runs between Perth and Esperance.
